This year’s German Fashion Week is taking place in September and October. The first meeting of the year sees the debut of a new style from the collection of Anna Akana. The lines combine traditional elements such as geometrical shapes and stripes with a contemporary edge. The main colours used are blue, black and white combined with gold to create this modern and bold line.

The second German fashion trends you should pay attention to is from Christoph Keuchel. The 26-year-old is from Tel Aviv but has made his home in Gutersloh, which is a city in Lower Saxony in the south of Germany. Christoph’s designs are influenced by traditional styles but this year he has created new silhouettes which he plans to launch later in 2010. These include sweaters with geometric shapes and he has created a jacket in the same shape as well. These clothes will be available from the end of this year.

The third latest trend to hit the German fashion scene is that of animal prints. This year we have seen designs from the zebra, leopard and moose. Some designers have added motifs such as hearts, flowers and stars which are crocheted into the fabric on garments. While the designs are relatively simple, the effect is bold and is sure to keep us all talking for some time to come.
